Safeguarding at Our School
Safeguarding is given the highest priority at our school. We are committed to creating a safe, caring and nurturing environment where every child can thrive. Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, and all staff, governors, volunteers, parents and carers play a vital role in keeping children safe.
Our Commitment to Safeguarding
We follow the statutory guidance Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSiE) 2025, which sets out the legal duties schools must follow to safeguard and promote the welfare of children. The guidance emphasises a child‑centred, coordinated approach, where all staff understand what to look out for and what to do if they are concerned about a child.
KCSiE 2025 highlights:
- Safeguarding and promoting welfare is everyone’s responsibility.
- Staff must be alert to a wide range of risks including online harms, misinformation, disinformation and conspiracy theories.
- Clear expectations around safer recruitment, early help, low‑level concerns, and responding to allegations.
- Strengthened guidance around attendance, AI, cyber security, and filtering & monitoring.
Warwickshire County Council’s Approach
As part of Warwickshire’s safeguarding system, we work in line with the Families First for Children model, which focuses on supporting families earlier through multi‑agency collaboration:
- Family Help Teams, bringing professionals together to support families early and effectively.
- A Multi‑Agency Child Protection Team (MACPT) to provide rapid, coordinated responses to concerns and share critical information.
- Family Networks, enabling wider family members to play a stronger role in supporting children.
- The Warwickshire Safeguarding Children Partnership (WSCP), where local authorities, police, health services and education work jointly to safeguard children and hold each other to account.
Warwickshire emphasises:
- The paramount importance of children’s welfare.
- Listening to the wishes and feelings of children and families.
- Effective inter‑agency working in line with Working Together to Safeguard Children 2023.
Central England Academy Trust (CEAT) Safeguarding Principles
As part of the Central England Academy Trust, our safeguarding approach is guided and supported by Trust‑level leadership and quality assurance:
- Safeguarding is a strategic priority for CEAT, led by the CEO and the Trust Safeguarding Leads.
- Each school has trained Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs) and deputies. CEAT operates a Trustwide DSL Network to ensure consistent policy, practice and training.
- The Trust coordinates safeguarding training, oversees safer recruitment, and conducts Safeguarding Peer Reviews to ensure high standards.
- All CEAT schools adopt the relevant local authority child protection and safeguarding policies.
What This Means for Our School Community
A Culture of Vigilance
We maintain a culture where safeguarding is embedded in all we do. Staff are trained to identify concerns early — including neglect, physical, emotional or sexual abuse, online exploitation and contextual safeguarding risks.
Clear Reporting Procedures
If staff have any concern about a child, they know how to act immediately in line with KCSiE guidance.
Concerns about a child, a member of staff, or safeguarding practice are managed in accordance with statutory procedures.
Working with Families and Agencies
We work closely with Warwickshire’s Family Help teams, the WSCP, health, police and social care services to ensure coordinated support for children.
Safe Recruitment and Training
All staff and volunteers undergo the required background checks, including Enhanced DBS checks, and receive regular safeguarding training consistent with Trust requirements.
Online Safety and Emerging Risks
We follow KCSiE’s expectations regarding filtering & monitoring, online harms, cyber security, and safe use of technology.
If You Have a Concern
If you are worried about a child’s safety or wellbeing, please contact our Designated Safeguarding Lead or a member of the Safeguarding Team immediately.
