Intent
Our art curriculum celebrates creativity, individuality and cultural diversity. We aim for all pupils to see themselves as artists who can express ideas confidently using a wide range of media. Lessons promote inclusion by valuing different perspectives, artistic styles and personal experiences.
Implementation
We follow a skills‑based progression enriched by AccessArt pathways. Pupils explore drawing, painting, sculpture and mixed media through structured sequences that build competence and imagination. Teachers model techniques and provide adaptive resources so that learners at all starting points can participate fully and experiment creatively.
Impact
Pupils develop technical proficiency, creativity and confidence in expressing themselves. They gain cultural awareness through exposure to diverse artists and traditions. Work in sketchbooks demonstrates progression of ideas, reflection and artistic intention.
