DT

Intent

Our DT curriculum equips pupils with practical skills, creativity and problem‑solving abilities. It is inclusive, ensuring every child can explore designing, making and evaluating through meaningful projects. Pupils learn how products are created and how design can respond to real‑world needs.

Implementation

Projects follow a clear design cycle: research, plan, make and evaluate. Learning builds progressively across mechanisms, structures, textiles, food and electrical systems. Tasks are carefully scaffolded and resourced so that all pupils can succeed, including those who need support with fine motor skills or conceptual understanding.

Impact

Pupils leave with confidence in designing purposeful products, applying technical knowledge and evaluating ideas thoughtfully. They develop resilience, independence and pride in creating high‑quality outcomes.
