PE

Intent

PE at Watling Meadows promotes physical confidence, teamwork, wellbeing and enjoyment of movement. Our inclusive approach ensures every child—regardless of need or ability—can participate safely, confidently and successfully.

Implementation

A well‑sequenced curriculum offers experiences in games, athletics, gymnastics, and dance. Teachers differentiate tasks through equipment choices, groupings and step‑based skill progressions. Lessons emphasise respect, cooperation and personal improvement, ensuring all pupils can achieve.

Impact

Pupils develop physical literacy, resilience and teamwork skills. They gain confidence in applying skills across sports and demonstrate positive attitudes towards physical and mental wellbeing. Pupils are given other opportunities to apply these skills through our OPAL approach and outdoor learning opportunities.
