Pupil Premium

We are privileged to be able to make a difference to the lives of our pupils and the choices they make about their future. All of our pupils have an entitlement to a high-quality education and any additional support required that will enable them to lead purposeful, successful lives and make a positive contribution to society.

We believe that all pupils deserve the very best start and opportunities in life, regardless of any social or economic disadvantages that they may face. As such, we are committed to ensuring that all children, including disadvantaged children, are supported to make strong progress and fulfil their potential.

We will achieve this by:

  • Ensuring all pupils receive quality-first teaching by giving teachers high quality CPD and support.
  • Considered use of assessment data to identify gaps in learning so that additional support can be given through targeted support in class and additional evidence-based intervention programmes.
  • Ensuring SEMH and wellbeing support for disadvantaged pupils and families through the work of our pastoral staff.
  • Supporting families financially through subsidised trips, enrichment opportunities and experiences out of school.

We will use pupil premium funding effectively to implement research-based strategies from the EEF to address any challenges identified for our pupils in relation to ‘teaching’, ‘targeted academic support’ such as interventions and tutoring, and ‘wider strategies’ such as behaviour, attendance and wellbeing.

There will be a named pupil premium senior leader as well as a link governor to ensure that pupil premium funding is appropriately spent, is removing barriers and is making a positive impact in closing any gaps with other pupils.
