Spanish

Intent

Our Spanish curriculum promotes communication, cultural understanding and confidence in learning a new language. Inclusion is central: we aim for every child to enjoy language learning and see themselves as capable linguists.

Implementation

Pupils build vocabulary and grammatical understanding gradually, starting with greetings and everyday phrases and progressing to extended writing and spoken interactions. Repetition, visual prompts and scaffolded speaking frames ensure accessibility. Themes reflect real‑life contexts to make learning meaningful.

Impact

Pupils develop accurate pronunciation, growing confidence and the ability to hold simple conversations. They gain insight into Spanish‑speaking cultures and develop positive attitudes toward language learning.
